Natural Daylight – The Wow Factor

Interior designers are constantly seeking ways to incorporate elements of natural light inside buildings. Natural daylight transforms a space and enhances the stunning features and overall liveability of indoor spaces.

If you are planning on renovating, building, selling or simply upgrading your home, consider adding skylights! They’re a great way to add natural daylight to areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and living areas.

By adding skylights, you’ll be able to deliver daylight into the darkest of spaces where even windows can’t access. They are also an incredible way to conserve energy as you won’t need to rely on electricity during the day. We spend as much as 90% of our lives inside buildings, living, working and learning. Why not honour that and bring more natural daylight into our buildings and homes?

Independent research has shown that access to natural daylight enhances mental and physical well-being, and boosts concentration and energy levels. In fact, daylight is one of the primary influences on the way we feel every day, and helps stimulate the body’s production of serotonin, which is vital to our mental state.

Spaces with natural light evoke a sense of warmth and feel like a natural extension of the outdoors. If you decide to use warm and bright colours with your interior design, the natural light shining through will compliment this nicely and create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Natural elements such as timber, clay, ceramics and textiles will show their true colours with outdoor lighting shining on them.
